Berman Residence

This beautiful and spacious Margate home, on an oversized lot complete with pool,  is large enough for the entire extended family to come and stay.  The large inviting covered  front porch leads into a spectacular Great Room with a gourmet kitchen. There is a separate entry for the pool area with its own bath.  The study/guest room with bath and the laundry room round out the first floor.  The second floor wrap around deck offers views of the pool below as well the ocean beyond.  In addition to the master bedroom, the second floor also has another three bedrooms and two more bathrooms.  Every bedroom has views to the water and access to an outdoor space.  One more bedroom and full bathroom can be found on the third floor, along with one of the  best spaces in the house – the loft.

“As we started to look at houses, we were drawn to a certain vacant lot that we loved – close to the beach, the boardwalk and many of our friends.  But building a house?  What would our house look like, would it be functional, yet beautiful, would the process be difficult?  We liked many houses at the shore, but there was one in particular that we found ourselves admiring more than the rest.

Our decision on which architect to hire was easy … you designed the house we admired most.  From the outset, you were a calming influence.  You asked questions that allowed us to think about and describe our likes and dislikes and what we wanted from our summer retreat.  Rather quickly you were able to process our discussions and present our vision on paper.  We remember the first time we saw the blueprints and heard you tell us this would work; we knew at that moment that our dream of building a shore house was really going to happen.

What we learned to appreciate about you (beyond your obvious abilities) was your dedication to the project and attention to detail.  Having you as a liaison and our advocate with the builder and various contractors proved to be an important asset and relief for us.  You really cared that our vision and your design were captured in the workmanship.  Your involvement made this a memorable and rewarding experience, one that we now wholly recommend.

My family enjoyed its first full summer in our new house.  It is everything and more that we dreamed it to be.  Thanks again for your important role in making this happen.”

Best wishes,

Green Residence

This New England Cottage is actually located in Margate, NJ. Built on the footprint of the existing structure, this new beach house, completed in 2007, has an inviting open first floor plan. The dining room, in stage center, sits under a barrel vault ceiling. Beautiful open stairs lead to the next level. The second floor boasts not one, but two master bedroom suites, along with two additional bedrooms and a hall bath. The third floor completes the home with yet another bedroom suite and a large playroom. The exterior feels cozy with its stone façade, shingle style siding, and craftsman designed columns. The house graced the cover of the February/March issue of From House to Home magazine.

“Our vision of a “beach cottage” was delivered above and beyond our expectations. No one can believe how spacious and functional this house is, sitting on our original lot. Our family loves and utilizes every room. Working with you was truly a pleasure, and your ability to take a concept to fruition was superb. Thanks again for a job well done!”

Gerber Residence

This one story Longport residence needed to grow to meet the needs of its new family.  Located on a skinny undersized lot, it also fell below the Flood plain.  The new owners decided to raise it up, add on, and completely renovate this structure.    Taken down to bare bones, it was lifted, given a new foundation,  and completely re-constructed.  The first floor’s front porch, previously enclosed  several decades ago, was re-opened to enjoy the beach views and ocean breezes.  A new stairwell, going up three stories, was added. New bedrooms, new bathrooms,  a re-furbished kitchen, and two new play areas for the children were added.  The completed design gave the house  a whole new look and feel.

Herskowitz Residence

This beach block residence combines contemporary lines with traditional detailing. The exterior’s sunny yellow facade leads inside to ocean blue interiors, punctuated with bright  spots of color and bold white trim.  The house has an open first floor plan with a separate  bonus room and private bath.  The second floor has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and an additional sitting area leading to the front porch.  The entire third floor is encompassed by the luxurious master suite, including a home office and a private balcony.  All three levels are connected by both an elevator and an impressive stairwell, with views to the ocean from every level.

Stein Residence

This new Margate home utilizes every square inch of  it’s tiny lot. Sitting on a lot only 40′ wide and 67′ deep, this compact two and a half story structure boasts four bedrooms, three and half bathrooms, two living areas, a large kitchen and a ton of storage – plus a detached garage.   A year round primary residence, it is designed to be comfortable for the home owner during all four seasons and still be flexible enough to handle the influx of a multitude of summer family visitors.

Building our new home was easy when we had Terri Cummings to work with as our architect.  Her design was not only creative but her utilization of space was incredible.  She listened well and implemented our requests. The end result is fantastic. Our home is our castle! Thanks, Terri, for all your hard work.    Billie and Marc Stein

Rynn Residence

The homeowners of this house wished for a “grand estate” for themselves. Having a large piece of land, they were able to fulfill their wish with this beautiful traditional home. The two story great room can be opened to the formal living room, creating a fantastic entertaining space. The formal dining room, kitchen, home office, and master suite finish the first floor. The second floor has another three bedrooms, two full baths, and an amazing game room.

Traditional Style

The Traditional Style is pure Americana. This style brings childhood memories to the forefront of one’s thoughts. Shingle style facades, grand porches supported by large columns, and substantial trim work create the look.

“We just wanted to write you a note telling you how happy we are with the house. You did an amazing job. Everything turned out perfect. You are a real pleasure to work with. You knew exactly what I wanted and you accomplished it.”
